It was in 1972 that the young music promoter Fritz Thom was offered the opportunity to organize his first Jazz concert. Although it was not easy for a young music promoter to enter business relations with the exclusive label ECM, he made proper use of the opportunity to stage a jazz concert as part of a concert series in Eisenstadt. So he realized his first concert with a reknowned international artist, nobody less than the drummer Jack de Johnette und his band Directions.
